Stand up for Food that is Responsibly Grown

Stand up for Food that is Responsibly Grown

Soon, a new certification system will assure that American farms meet rigorous safety standards and treat their workers with the same great care they give to the fruits and vegetables they grow so you'll know that the fields where your food comes from are decent and safe place to work, and that your food is the best it can be for you and your family.

More retailers will carry produce that is responsibly grown and farmworker assured, but you need to make your voice heard. Sign the pledge at http://www.takepart.com/chavez.

As a farmer, I'm glad to see this certification. I've been paying my farmer workers their true value for years and now I'm ahead of the crowd.

before I shop. But since we buy mostly local farm goods anyway, I get to see things first hand. I hope this is a way for smaller farmers to be able to compete with foreign produce from big ag.

But wait untill the woo warriors arrive to tell us that labeling food will jack up the costs! Because knowing what's in your food is asking too much!
