(22,670 posts)It's not hard to see either. "Bargain" grocery stores are almost entirely filled with products made up of processed sugar, processed grains, and genetically altered food fillers. It's trash. This isn't what man ate for the past 100,000 years.

(2,065 posts)And that's my final answer. The perfect storm - a toxic soup of who knows what, all capable of creating ever new health horrors by coming together in all kinds of disastrous ways! Definitely all the other deleterious health threats that are out there make us much more vulnerable to the sugar. For example, GMOs have been shown to induce insulin resistance and aggravate a tendency towards type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. And then common medications used to control high blood sugar are injurious to the liver - which is, after the pancreas, probably the next most important organ in blood sugar control. We have Frankenf@%&ed so much with our drugs and our food supply, deviating from and subverting the Way of Nature that there may be no more hope for the human species!
