3. The GOP needs to come to grips with who they really are

After all, they're the ones creating and spreading the hateful racist agitprop...
I'd say that makes the GOP pretty darn racist.

8. Lee Atwaters Southern Strategy quote
Fri Apr 25, 2014, 02:44 PM
Apr 2014

Over the years, we've written a lot at this site about Lee Atwater, the erstwhile godfather of Republican dog-whistle attack politics -- Amato in particular has often discussed Atwater's central role in transforming the GOP into the Party of the Old South it has become today.

In our book Over the Cliff,, we cited an infamous interview with Atwater in which he explained how the Southern Strategy worked:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can’t say “nigger”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.”

However, a number of conservatives have over the years disputed the veracity of that interview and that quote, or have claimed it wasn't really Atwater. You know, the denial thing.

Now James Carter IV -- the same researcher who dug up Mitt Romney's "47 percent" remarks on video has unearthed the entire 42-minute interview. Rick Perlstein has the entire thing over at The Nation:

5. The issue is not what Bundy said, or anyone else for that matter

The issue is that leading figures in the Republican Party embraced Bundy led on by the Republican cheer leading squad at faux.
No one is surprised that a wealthy tax evader would be a bigot. The Republican party said not a word until they were knee deep in the doodoo.

10. He couldn't even name African-Americans in top positions in the GOP.

I'm trying to remember. Aren't there 44 African-Americans in Congress right now and only, what? One or two Republicans? It's a pitiful number for both sides, but especially for Republicans.

What a laughable chip this guy has on his shoulder.Right on schedule of course we get the same tired victim-hood nonsense about the mean Democrats unfairly exploiting the Bundy case for political gain by painting everyone in the GOP with the same racist brush.
The reason his party is dealing with a loud mouth racist like Bundy now is because the GOP have been recklessly pandering to his type of mentality for decades. They're running away from the guy now in desperation(gee surprise) but they sure as hell didn't mind exploiting him and his "heroic" fight against the "evil government"-the same government run by the "communist" "democrat party" etc.etc. (talk about painting everyone with the same brush) Drop the attitude Mr Spokesman. You and your party only have yourselves to blame.

By blathering on about things that aren't true, or aren't comparable to each other, or that simply demonstrate — once again — that the Republican Party survives solely on resentment and childish whining (and big money, of course).

I can't believe that I agree with this "Black Chick" woman on any thing but she points out what is never said the media always portrays Back Americans as some type of "other like blacks are aliens from another planet.

People from other races get more respect than black people who have been here before them. Whatever the issue Blacks are portrayed separately and if they whatever blacks are this country created it by stepping on their backs on every issue.one example http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024823271
