(50,254 posts)When is the last time you heard an elected official say that?
As Phil Ochs put it in the song Crucifixion:
Time takes her toll
and the memory fades.
But his glory is growing in the magic that he made
Reality is ruined, there is nothing more to fear
The drama is distorted to what they want to hear
Swimming in their sorry, in the shadow of a tear.
As they wait for the new thrill parade.
But Bobby was taken from us...so we all have to find the way, some way, some how, to come together and BE Bobby. After all, they can't kill ALL of us-at least not all at once.

(7,970 posts)We let his legacy die with him and it kills me to say that. I was 12 years old when he was murdered and it was so sad to watch that video. My niece and nephews don't know anything about him, to them he's a relic of a distant, bygone era.

(1,648 posts)What to do? Keep the faith, baby...and search all the time for someone else who has more than hope and change, y'know what I mean, their actions match their words...not just pretty words. So many need more than that now.
