The Rubin Report: Could Climate Change Unleash Ancient Viruses?

Scientists have revived a frozen 30,000 year old giant Siberian virus that could be a sign of things to come.

The discovery, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, has raised many questions and concerns from people wondering if more viruses could pop up all over the world from the ground thawing out as a result of rising temperatures.

Most people think of rising waters and droughts as the biggest consequences of climate change; could this discovery change the landscape for the climate change debate?
