p.s. I would like to see the GOP put a 'man' on a brocade loveseat to give the next SOTU rebuttal.
The GOP still has no clue about what is wrong with their view of women.

(2,720 posts)Humor is better when it has some semblance to reality. There were tons of specific things in the President's SoTU address, but you can always pick a vague sentence here and there from a long speech to build a false narrative that there were no specifics, which is what Mr. Stewart did.

(5 posts)The man is clearly more about popularity than credibility (and yes he's a comedian, but so is bill maher, and anyone who watches both shows knows bill is way more genuine). I was disgusted especially with the way he made fun of Dawn Zimmer for coming forward with her clearly true allegations of Christie, and stewart seemed like a fox news anchor the way he made fun of her journal. Disgusting. I don't watch his show daily anymore - only the clips posted on here, in hope that they will appeal to me. Recently, they have not.

(51,659 posts)Jon recounted that 2009 secret meeting O'Connell had with Ryan and the gang where they all pledged to be against anything Obama was for, while publicly espousing bipartisanship.
Your post fails to mention the best from Jon's show last night.

(1,370 posts)The State of the Union Address has become a series of cliche examples of hard working Americans who are getting screwed just as badly now as they were 30 years ago.
I guess we'll have to excuse Jon if he isn't singing the praises of a President who talks about income inequality after supporting Bush tax cuts for the rich and is currently supporting another corporate giveaway trade bill that the hard working folks he mentioned in his speech aren't even allowed to see.
Another few years of "moderate" Dems "working hard" for the middle class and it'll simply slip into oblivion! Then they can give us examples of the people they really care about, the hard working 1%...
