CHICAGO—
Mayor Emanuel is building on the "city in the garden" theme by making the city's next 5 year capital plan one that focuses on expanding and refurbishing parks, playgrounds, even basketball courts.

Among the 800 new city projects aimed at getting Chicagoans outdoors is making over The Bloomingdale Trail. As one of the bigger projects that plan calls for stripping an elevated path running 2.65 miles along Bloomingdale Road and converting it into a path for all to use.
