The Arizona Senate Judiciary Committee has recently voted in favor of legislation that will make it legal for employers to ask their employees what they need contraception for and fire an employee if they don't like the answer. (12,712 posts)tend to work extremely well for the right-wing, establishment wizards.
It looks like they tend to throw out issues that have strong emotional impact by focusing on particular groups or gender, knowing that these issues are important and people will react and struggle to protect their rights, privacy, etc.
However, this is an election year. What bothers me most is that the wedge issues that are fielded and attacked provide distraction from a HOST of other issues that are extremely pertinent and worsening.
In this case, what is comforting is that the GOP is taking enough rope to hang itself this time around because they appear to lack the means to execute their distractions with any sophistication.

(14,337 posts)Would a married woman, who needs the Pill for medical reasons, have to sign a "purity pledge" that while using contraception for medical reasons, she will not have sex with her husband to prevent children from being born.
Don't laugh at that. This IS what the Catholic Church tells a married woman on the pill for medical reasons to do. Sex is for PROCREATION.

(535 posts)You have the option of turning them off. They don't work well when people speak rapidly.
They are in a test phase, working out the kinks, and are of questionable value to many videos on Youtube.

That is a question that is just begging for MAD's "snappy answers to stupid questions."
