There are scandals, and there are SCANDALS. And the story of an EPA official who cheated the agency out of a million dollars with an incredibly elaborate hoax might very well be, in Jon Stewart‘s opinion, one of the most amazing and unbelievable political scandals of all time.

I just got back from watching that segment on Rachel's site. She gave more details about the imposter; Jon had the juicer moments from the committee hearing.

I watched the next two segments, too. I'm about to post an OP with a video link about the town of Moore, OK.

9. Unfortunately, this will only feed into the GOP's obsession to shitcan the EPA.

They will point to this Beale character and say "see, this is what the EPA is all about."

I can't believe this crap went on for as long as it did.

And that video of Cummings' reaction when he gasps, and then smiles in disbelief, after the other EPA official that is testifying before their committee answers Cummings' question and he admits that he had indeed asked his wife if Beale could stay in their guest house, is priceless.
Cummings couldn't believe it, and neither can I.
