Somehow I thought of this as a tribute today.

Not sure why, but children were at the centerpiece of this musical, obviously of the season and I was just 19 when I took Mom to see it in 1970. It may be a bit much now, but I recall feeling incredibly uplifted at the time. So I post it in tribute to those adults and children who are here to celebrate this season - and to those who are gone, whether recently or long ago, but still recalled. I think that's ultimately what this season is all about. Or should be. Good memories.

I hate people..... I deplore them,
Drinking from their impudent glasses, sitting on their indolent asses,
I hate people.....
and I don't care if THEY - HATE - ME!

and....

Thank you ve-ry much... thank you ve-ry much, that's the nic-est thing that an-y-one's ev-er done for me.....

good memories! No scrooge version has ever lifted me higher than the finale of that one.
