(13,141 posts)Thanks for posting this as I have an otherwise somewhat
sane friend who listens to Alex Jones & takes him
seriously.
Oh, and the Koch Brothers sponsor Nova on PBS!
Forgot that one!
The recent articles/interviews with the woman
who grew up in John Birch Society have really
stuck with me. She laid out quite simply and
clearly how this has all come to pass, and the
Kochs are at the heart of it. The foundations, the
institutions, the think tanks, the insidious
propaganda.

PBS Nova has lost all credibility, in my book. I have avoided it ever since Koch was mentioned as a sponsor. Watched it for the first time (in a year?) recently, the Kennedy assassination. Pretty much concluded one shooter, one magic bullet.
With radical-right money funding the program now, why bother watching?
Afterall, PBS mustn't offend the delicate, radical right sensibilities of David Koch.

(18,998 posts)And I don't buy it for a minute that they are actually nuts...(well maybe Beck is)...they know exactly what they are doing...
And like this example where he paints the Koch's as supporters of the left, he knows better, but when the name brand takes a hit like it is now with them he is there to shift it to Democrats...
I actually had a right winger tell me the pope is critical of progressives...and that KFK was a Conservative.
It is a common tactic that I call I'm rubber you are glue...just say it is the opposite of what it is and keep saying it...then you have to prove them wrong, which you will never do and the spotlight is off of them.
And it is not accident that Alex Jones sounds so much like Rush Limpballs.

(53,661 posts)Beck has defended the Koches on television when he was on cable news. So more billions of dollars than we have voters. And they believe dollars=votes. So it goes, this market madness. Good explanation here of how pervasive this is:

It's what we hear when we see human rights being equated to markets and money as an equality. Free marketeers get rich off slavery, pollution, bribes and theft.
JMHO.

(16,375 posts)Frankly, I've always wondered which right wing billionaires have funded Limbaugh ... especially in the early years. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Jones and Beck are Koch funded. (Particularly Beck who seemed to be auditioning for the role of Der Fuehrer American style when he held his own tea party rallies on the steps of the Lincoln monument awhile back. So I'm sympathetic with the idea but your title seems to be saying that it's a fact.
Mc Mike
(9,115 posts)but I agree with Mr. Seder's thesis.
The Kochs are birchers, and Rolling Stone mag did an interview piece on Jones which brought up bircher connections he and his family have, several times during the article.
Sam isn't just saying 2 + 2 = 4, he's also going on the record with his broadcast allegation. Let's see if that tubby deranged bircher Jones sues for defamation.

The Koch brothers are likely paying Jones to mislead his audience and redirect their anger at a bunch of fantastical garbage about the NWO, black helicopters and reptilians instead of the basic fact that the Koch brothers spend millions of dollars bribing politicians to screw the rest of us over so that the Kochs get their way.
Regardless, your concern is noted.
