Great Video of Senator Warren handing the anchors of CNBC their asses
But it's also a reminder that we are heading for another major crash and it may be far worse than 2008.
Because No one in the Congress or the Senate is or can do anything to stop it because the greed and the money flowing through our Government will not let it be stopped.
But be warn and be aware. We asking what do the wealthy 1% need with SOOOO much money, Well look what they are doing with it, they are storing it away like squirrels, because they know the crash is coming. We are doing all the same things people were doing during the roaring twenties and making all the same mistakes.
The wealthy 1% will be able to ride out a major crash for years even decades, the rest of us, will be lucky to catch their scraps.
This is not doom and Gloom, this is all based on History and it's repeating big time. And the thing that is going to suck worse than the crash of 29 is, Most of us were not alive in 1929, but we will be living it in our time. Also what's going to make it worse is all the industries that are no longer in this country. And all the industries that's can't get a foot hold because of republican obstructionism.

Please understand I am not living in fear I am living in reality. We are in the calm before the storm. Enjoy it while it last.

(17,301 posts)They are just so lame, I wondered if the propaganda channel for the corporate interest was really viewed by many people.
But aside from their propaganda, CNBC has a point about boom and bust cycles being inherit in the American economic system. Yes, it seems that the economic system America choose to use does create cycles where the vast majority of people suffer while a handful of greedy psychopaths make away with all the wealth. But of course there is something we can do about it. Regulation is a possibility but like the last crash, greedy psychopaths eventually use their vast wealth to corrupt our political system making regulation all but impossible.
The solution is to CHANGE the economic system. We do NOT have to use Capitalism. There are other perfectly functioning economic systems that work for the majority of people. Other systems do NOT allow a few hundred very greedy crazy people to control hundreds of millions of other people.

(4,973 posts)It shows the banker wannabe's ripping off small investors of all their life savings. You would think there would be some system in place where you could easily check on the business practices or solvency of these investment companies. The ponzi scheme is alive an well in America. At the end of the Young Turks video, Cenk brings up a tweet by Jim Cramer. Isn't that the same idiot telling everyone that the market was stable the day before the 2008 crash?

(8,084 posts)It reduces us to being nothing more than commodities. In capitalism we all have a price on our heads. The price is how much the system can extract from us. Example how many times do we hear or read something like. The cost of a (insert any title here) will be $$$ per person
That can be
Prisoner
Student
Homeowner
Employee
And depending on what that amount is determines what our purchased politicians will fight for. Which is why we have the highest prison population in the world.
And why they keep wanting to cut funding for schools.
College educated people is a slow pay off. But a prisoner is instant revenue
This is not a sustainable system

(9,298 posts)she wanted to be a "champion" of the middle class? She does it every day that she shows up. The Repubs have NO ONE that can match her brilliance, integrity and determination. Oh, and she can definitely take the heat. That makes her a champion for all of us, not just the lucky people in Massachusetts who had the good sense to elect her.
Bravo, Senator!
