Why The Legacy of Clintonian Economic Destruction Should Destroy A Hillary in 2016 Campaign

Last edited Wed Nov 13, 2013, 09:42 PM - Edit history (3)

Pundits have already started pontificating upon potential Democratic candidates for the 2016 U.S. Presidential Campaign. While among the mainstream media bubble the consensus seems to be that Hillary Clinton will be the nominee. But David wonders why the destructive nature of Clintonian economics, war mongering, corporatism and social oppression hasn't demoted her standing as a candidate and basic decent human being in the eyes of the public.

2. So anyone left of Obama finds her so-so at best, and the right hates her with burning passion.

Yet some still say she can win? I don't get it.

Well...ineb..INEVITABLE! Whatever.

My only hope is that, when it comes to economic and commerce policies, she'll govern differently from her 'centrist' husband. But I doubt it.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way about the Clinton's. He was not the president that we voted for pretty much like Obama, ran on being a liberal and all he is, is a wall street democrat more wall street than democrat.

11. No voter is going to remember "Clintonian Economic Destruction." They'll remember the surplus.

No voter will see "guilt by association" propaganda as anything but that. They'll see her family values, her work as first lady, senator and secretary of state before they'll buy all that "legacy" bullshit.

12. HILLARY INEVIDABLE? WE HAVE 2+ YRS TO MAKE THE CASE FOR OTHERS AND SHARE THE FACTS ABOUT THIS

Hillary person. Just yesterday I wrote on Hillary's FB page that I would not support her ever, as she voted for the Invasion of Iraq, to Bomb Syria is 2013, and is currently a supporter of the dreaded TPP. These reasons alone are enough for me to say NEXT.

15. Really? You'd NEVER support Hillary under any circumstances?

You wouldn't support Hillary in a general election? Not even if she were running against, say, Ted Cruz?

The thing about voting and elections that many people fail to think about is that you're NEVER going to be able to vote for a perfect candidate. You only have a very few choices on the ballot and you have to vote for the one that's going to serve you better than the others. Sure, I'd probably pick Elizabeth Warren over Hillary, but I'll take Hillary in a heartbeat over anyone the GOPers will put up there. And (in the hypothetical case that Hillary's the nominee) if I don't cast my ballot for Hillary in the general election that's just as good as voting for a GOPer.

13. "Clintonian economics" is it sexist?
Thu Nov 14, 2013, 10:25 AM

It is sexist to assume that Mr. Clinton's presidential history is also Ms. Clinton's?

Should she be tied to anything and everything Mr. Clinton did/does?

A friend and his wife are judges. Are her rulings his? Or does he have a mind of his own?

she did not get where she is alone. I have never heard her express different views on any substantive matter from her husband.
Yes it is sexist to give her the benefit of Bill Clinton's history but that is what propelled her along. She is a very bright capable person but to deny her popularity among democrats is not biased by Bill's popularity is naive. She has benefited greatly by being Bill's wife and has never to my knowledge sought until recently to distance herself from his legacy. She is or is not a Clinton. We know it would be politically advantageous now to be a Warren but it just ain't so, no matter how hard Hillary proclaims her progressiveness.

People in this country still believe that if you fail economically, it is all your own fault. That's why we ignore things like NAFTA and the TPP.
