It takes a lot of effort to alter paper ballots whereas with computers there is no trace ...not a computer expert but I've read that they are very corruptible and with the firms actually keeping the programming secret ....there's a lot of trust involved ... in Australia they normally have most results worked out election night and then recounted until they are pretty right....also there is an AEC ( australian electoral commission) which administers any election be it federal,state or even now council....they are accountable and I think trustworthy. A much safer system than the US uses.....pencils even work during power failures ...lol
