Maher Goes Off on Obamacare Failures with Piers Morgan: Shouldn’t Have ‘Lied to People’

That's Mediaite's headline. Kind of misleading. Bill mostly defends Obamacare

"Late night host Bill Maher joined Piers Morgan at the table on Tuesday night to talk all about Obamacare, and Maher was (with some reservations) incredibly critical of the rollout and agreed that President Obama “lied to people” about insurance.............."

Things ACA doesnt let private for-profit health insurance get away with anymore.

Annual Caps
Lifetime Caps
pre-existing conditions
denial of medical claims
dropping your policy after your treatment
and much more.

Only a dumbass would be against that.

Goss is a Michigan retail worker who got an inexpensive “mini-med” policy while working at Talbots and kept it going for $65 a month after losing her job. “I was aware that it wasn’t a great plan,” she told Consumer Reports last year, “but I wasn’t concerned because I wasn’t sick.”

When she did get sick—with breast cancer—she quickly surpassed her plan’s four-figure annual spending limits and ended up postponing treatment while she scrounged for $30,000 to cover her bills. I've never watched a Piers Morgan interview before. Wow, this guy is completely deaf to anything his interviewee says. Nothing stops Morgan from his stream of bile bile, then ending with the Cantor propaganda.

Maher makes tons of points, tries so hard to get some info into Morgan's brain on rightwing Mars.

Why in the world does Piers Morgan have an interview show anywhere? He simply has no interest in the basic dynamics of an interview.

I've watched both for a very long time. Maher often interjects and makes it all about himself (an elitist misogynistic narcissist). Very brilliant people often aren't allowed to finish a sentence during the first section of Maher's shows. Its annoying to say the least.

I'm not defending Maher's slights, especially re:more intelligent/informed/liberal women (eg Amy Goodman), the social safety net (parroting Fix the Debt propaganda), zealotry in turning many productive discussions into anti religion rants, or even his
squashing of important stories ( eg shutting down a shocked Taibbi first exposing The Squid Goldman Saks).

But I enjoy watching Maher because he is funny, which is his job. He often. especially in his New Rules, connects dots,
both ridicules and clarifies political stupidities that the MSM often leave unexposed and unchallenged.

Piers is supposed to be a "journalist" tho his Murdock credentials make that a fairly questionable professional claim. There is nothing
revealing, no news purpose to his side of the interview here. Again he's not even listening just repeating a laundry list of faux outrage.

And re: narcissism and misogyny...I doubt Morgan would lose that contest to Maher.
