During Wednesday mornings House hearing on the Obamacare website, a hot mic caught an unidentified female expressing exasperation when a GOP congressman began a question about the healthcare laws insurance coverage for abortion.

The tension in the room continued when Shimkus requested that Sebelius provide a list of the insurers in the exchange that do not offer abortion as part of their packages.

(3,290 posts)and I am unfortunately and reluctantly one of his constituents and yes, he is an embarrassment. He is basically a religious wacko and writing him on issues does no good whatsoever with basic form letter responses. Check out his website for the bible verses. Not sure but somehow that seems just a little out of place. AAAARRRRGH!

These clowns need to be ousted.
I have an idea, maybe there should be a TEST for all candidates who cast their "hat into the ring" when they decide to run for office... to determine whether they actually have any clue about the laws and governing parameters that exist along with protocol and their limits of influence for the office they seek. Aka, a civics test to see if they know their ass from a hole in the ground. they should have to get a score of 85+ to be placed on the ballot.

They offered the VP job to the Hillbilly from Alaska who had no idea what a VP does, and she never even looked it up. I wish they would require a test like you said. There wouldn't be enough Repukes to be on any ballot.

(614 posts)she should have said:
Congressman, I feel fairly certain that can be done, and in fact will see to it that it is done, if for no other reason than to make sure that any woman purchasing insurance on the exchange who wants to be certain her insurer does cover abortion needs to have that information clearly and boldly represented on the site.
but of course, that would have been inflammatory, hurting poor shimkus' feefees.
