Let me tell you something: NYC, my home since 1981, has its problems. Every city has its share of stupid bigots, and NYC is no exception. But on any day of the week, NYC does far better in terms of tolerance of different groups than just about any other city in the U.S. And as for being a "melting pot," I much prefer the term used by former mayor David Dinkins, who described the city as a "gorgeous mosaic."

has been my home since 1965. Born and raised here. I love it. But there are people who make it bad and act like assholes.Not judging 8 mil people just the crappy ones. Yes we have problems but this just hurts me. I love the diversity. I tell people if you hate the diversity then leave.
