(8,965 posts)Since Bachmann's not running for re-election after this term, that will leave a "void" of sorts for the most delusional / nonsensical right-wing media hound in Congress. With off-the-charts absurd talking points, and a serial refusal to address the interviewer's simple question, Blackburn is definitely in the running.

(6,699 posts)What an empty-headed buffoon. Again, the problem is that the whole teabagger klan won't see what is going on with this goof-ball; and they'll all think she has a "legitimate concern". Holy sweet jebus, what a nation of morons we live among.

(23,998 posts)How embarrassing to have to attempt defending such a ridiculous argument. She really drew the short straw when party leaders handed out "attack the web site" marching orders.

(5,610 posts)I live in Clarksville, TN., Blackburn is "my" rep. and I want the world to see how insane, irresponsible and just plain ignorant "our" govt. is in TN. The same type of air argument she provided to this news lady are the same type of answers I receive when I e-mail her office for clarification over insane stances that she always takes. I "am blessed" to receive her thoroughly self-promoting, delusional, monthly bulletins that describe her "Cruzing" in D.C.
Tn., of course is one of the Southern RED (by gross gerrymandering, poorly educated, brainwashed, ignorant voters) states that IS NOT expanding its Medicaid roles to insure a huge "class" of indigent constituents that (most) have not had medical insurance in their adult lives.
I called our (just as ignorant) Gov., Bill Haslam's office on Friday to ask why Haslam has not expanded Medicaid (they are reimbursed federally). His telephone staffer said that while Haslam has not expanded the Medicaid roles (KY. has, of course they have a democrat as governor), he has not made a "formal decision." When I began to inquire why "our" Governor does not believe that (the huge masses) that cannot afford health insurance should be denied medical care (Haslam has opposed expanding Medicaid openly but not made "a formal decision" I was permanently placed "on hold."
Honestly, I would conservatively estimate that 1 in 5 Tennesseans in their 50's have (many very serious) correctable health conditions, (torn rotator cuffs and ACL's etc..)yet live in a state where if you are not insured or have cash up-front, are only stabilized by the greedy, over-priced, for-profit hospitals that dominate our state.
I could seriously write a book on just the people that I know who have mainly age related disabilities and are forever denied SS and/or Medicaid. They suffer (The legislatures tell TN citizens that only "pain medicine" Dr.'s can prescribe any narcotics under penalty of law). So another huge specialty has risen here, whose Dr.'s (specialists!) charge exorbitant fees, have patients come in randomly each month to count their pills to ensure they are not selling them and piss test them monthly for marijuana use. If they are "hot" they get their meds. denied, every patient has to sign that agreement before being seen. Yet, we have this Idiot talking about HIPPA laws when NO medical questions exist.... and thousands being labeled as addicts over a weed that is legal in other states
Sorry, I had to vent. I have been trying to get my 2 siblings medical coverage and cannot do it.

(7,358 posts)I looked up Blackburn's bio and see she's actually from Mississippi .. and was a young Republican and a fired-up Christian Right zealot. Go figure .. she makes absolutely no sense .. kudos to Carol Costello.

(45,984 posts)Why do I get the idea that TPTB in her district decided to run her for Congress because she was a lousy lawyer. I'll give her credit for sticking to her talking point, but if I were on a jury and that were her closing argument, I wouldn't be impressed.
She just wouldn't answer the question. Is this a serious investigation or a Darrell Issa-style fishing expedition cum witch hunt.
