Surprising blowback on CNN for NC Representative

This is really a thing of beauty to watch. Renee Ellmers, who wants to get rid of Obamacare, claims "I have constituents back home whose premiums have gone up 400%." The CNN host (Carol something) does a great job of pinning her down and shows videos of KY Governor Steve Bashir praising Obamacare. Renee Ellmers is the representative who recently had an AR-15 stolen from her unlocked garage. Enjoy.

Did she say ANYTHING of substance? "a MONUMENTAL DISASTER!" "Dead on arrival"...holy sweet jebus, are these empty-headed repukkkes for real?

I agree with the previous post, WHO votes for these clowns? Why do we, the WHOLE AMERICAN PEOPLE, have to put up with such snake-oil salesman?? She had NOTHING to offer. Not one idea what would make it better, or fix it. She's kinda purdy for a 50 yr old congresswoman, but damn, is she empty-headed and just plain full of her own hot air. Maybe she's been in too many subcommittee meetings? Sorta lost her thoughts and reasoning skills.

and said nothing of substance.

It should be noted that her state is one with the entire government stacked with witless right wing maniacs and which didn't expand Medicaid. Of course it's going to fail in NC, they want it to and will make certain it does.

Ellmer is one of the worst of the worst there. I hope people will finally catch a clue and throw her out of office a year from now, along with all the other teabaggers.

If it isn't working in her state I will bet you $50 that:

A) She has a Republican Governor who has rejected the federal money that would make it cost effective.

B) She has corporations that want Obamacare to fail and are using it as an excuse to dump employees off health care.

C) She is using examples of people up near the top of the 400% above poverty area that can afford healthcare anyway.

D) She is NOT factoring in pre-existing conditions OR students being able to stay on parents insurance longer.

WHO IS BEING DISHONEST??

... it'd be heading your way. It's a bit like taking a bet on whether water at 20c is wet.

I'd add E: Electing not to set up an exchange here.

Heck, both North and South Carolina could have cooperated together on this.... took the federal cash and worked on making a joint marketplace for both States. Still at the state level but using economies of scale to achieve further savings.

She says "Americans can't wait" - Uh... what? She doesn't want it in the first place, but now that she wants to criticize the roll out all of a sudden she's saying Americans can't wait?

She goes back to what Beshear said about Medicare being enacted in 1965 and taking a few years to sort out but she, of course, in "repeating" it says that it took from 1965 to NOW to get sorted out. What a you know what.

Then her condescension. I can't listen to the whole thing even though I was almost done.

Fuck her.

DUNN, N.C. -- The Dunn Police Department is investigating the theft of an AR-15
assault rifle from the home of U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers.

snip

According to a police report, Bret Ellmers' said the rifle was left leaning against a gun safe the day before in the garage, which had been left unlocked. Bret Ellmers told officers he and his son had left the rifle in the garage after going target shooting. The report does not say whether the weapon was loaded.

snip

"Her family is very big on gun safety and she wants to get to the bottom of this herself," Doheny said.

Ellmers is a political conservative aligned with the tea party. In the 2012 election she was endorsed by the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups.

to use against the ACA but the fact remains that THEIR party has done NOTHING to address the huge problem of our current system. Yeah the ACA is far from perfect, but their idea is to go back to doing NOTHING.
