There are some great comments on the Strengthen Social Security page. Here's a good one:

Kathy Neil: Why is it we haven't learned from the experiences of the E.U., where austerity programs have caused mass suffering, including deaths? Furthermore, FDR didn't pull the country out of the Great Depression using austerity. We should be following his proven methods for turning our economy around. In addition, the time of free rides for big corporations and special interest lobbyists should be ended immediately. Everybody has to pay their fair share!

1. I do not believe for one minute that austerity is inflicted for any reason other than to eradicate

the middle class, increase profits and lower taxes for the wealthy, and cruelly squeeze the poor.
And looks like the Dems and the GOP are just fine with Ryan's budget, and Obama's 2014 budget has chained CPI. Unless that budget is an eleventy dimensional practical joke trap.

Ooooh! Maybe we will get Medicare vouchers, too!

2. Obama 2014 Budget contains chained CPI for Social Security. This nation has already told

the President and the Democrats, NO, to CPI. People are paying better attention and more will say no.
