(14,918 posts)Says Blackburn: "I spent the years re-reading some of my favorite classics, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. Sometimes the classics are still the best." So far, I haven't seen any comment from Blackburn on her idol Rand's atheism and adultery.

On a side note, her favorite serial killer - Hickman, was featured on Mysteries at the Museum last night but they down played his mutilation of the corpse of the 12 year old he murdered. Ayn Rand was very fond of Hickman and modeled her characters after the murderer.

(7,865 posts)A book that justifies the powerful and wealthy and basically justifies treating other people like crap is popular. Big surprise.
Of course there are absolutely concerted efforts to mass purchase this book to inflate its "popularity" that would make scientologists blush. I am a fairly well read guy and I have tried three times to get through this hateful slog. I sincerely doubt it is as popular as this lady is making it out to be.
