The clarity of truth. Thank you, Mr Bernstein. Media should report using facts not equal coverage. The Wielding Truth Oct 2013 #1

This 50/50 or both sides are responsible narrative pushed by the media is simply a lie. The facts are clear and only one party is responsible for the shutdown

I hope Letterman, Leno, Kimmel bring Bernstein on to say this, a succinct and scolding message to the MSM "equalizer's" who have long given the rightwing so much cover and destructive pander. It's doubtful any primetime MSM news will invite Bernstein or air this clip, because Bernstein is essentially calling them all out for shirking their professional obligations to report the facts. Mainstream network news has created a crisis in journalism as well as aided and abetted the propaganda machine of the rightwing now for years. The MSM have become accomplices to the rightwing not just stenographers. Carl's comparison to the McCarthy era isn't even extreme, it's apt.

Look at Scarborough here. Tho he's cable not primetime network, he's just speechless against a real journalist breaking down the facts and the crisis in journalism ( and hence politics)the MSM has created by spending years being fluffers to Republican propagandists.

I met Bernstein about eight years ago, he wandered into my shop. Such a friendly and funny and smart guy. I almost sold him something, told him I gave big discounts "to journalists who changed the course of American history." He laughed really hard. But maybe, maybe by outspokenly calling out the MSM and the severity of the political crisis their lazy "equalizing" and stenography has created, Carl can influence history once again.
