Jimmy Kimmel Wonders Just How Gullible Fox News Really Is

Did you hear the one about Obama using his own money to keep a museum dedicated to Muslim culture open during the government shutdown? It's 100% not true, but that didn't stop Fox News from reporting it.

Unfortunately for host Anna Kooiman, the story came from parody news site National Report, and not a legitimate source. Oh, well, some stories are so good you just wish they were true. As a wise person once said, facts are a wish your heart makes, right?

But the incident made Jimmy Kimmel wonder just how gullible the producers over at Fox News really are. Watch the clip to see his pretty accurate spoof of how a lie becomes a breaking news story.

And I don't think it's gullibility at all.On the part of their viewers, sure. But Fox is not gullible, they know damn well they're lying. That's their entire reason for existence. They'll only retract when they're caught ,like the palm trees in Wisconsin clip.

Once they broadcast a story like this - the damage is done. The braindead minions that watch Fox - take it in and believe it - hook, line and sinker - and the story is quickly spread amongst their fold. Even if it is proved to be untrue at a later time - many of the minions will not hear that - or not believe it. They only believe what Fox tells them and what they want to believe.

This kind of journalism needs to be stopped. It is not journalism - it is propaganda - plain and simple.

Really, "twitter retraction" should not even be allowed when you have a full on air live network.
