So this happened this morning.
Worst. PR. Ever.
Absolutely disgusting. I don't know about you compañeros on the east coast, but here in Southwest--a lot of park rangers and fire fighters have died to the wildfires. Closing down a park service, especially if you are cutting the park budget, is perfectly reasonable.
I recall that Colorado and Texas Republicans slashed the budget for fighting forest and park servicemen are dying over that fact as they serve the American people. I mean dudes are dying just before the shutdown, let alone after we underfund them. < http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2013/09/28/report-yarnell-firefighters-died-trying-to-make-it-to-safe-zone >. This public statement just shows how out of touch with reality the Republican party has fallen.
Seriously, don't mess with the park ranger. They have to deal with your armed maniacs meandering the woods (which is legal now, thanks congress).
God bless you, bicyclist dude.

http://www.juanitajean.com/2011/02/16/yachting-dandy-randy-works-hard-to-make-fool-of-self/
Most of you are familiar with Juanitas favorite yachtsman, Republican Congressman Randy Neugebauer of deep West Texas. The district that Randy represents is landlocked and 95% dessert. The other 5% is asphalt.
However, Randy bought a damn yacht with his campaign donations. Not a bass boat. Not even a ski boat. Its a yacht. In fact, heres what it looks like, she shows a picture to everyone and they all say, Damn, girl, that a yacht!
Here is a picture of the yacht purchased with campaign funds
It is hard to take anything that this idiot says seriously

(129 posts)Neugebauer knows that park ranger is doing her job as she was instructed to do by her supervisor.
It's not her choice, and in fact if she didn't do as instructed she could be fired.
He knows that, and that was an act for the camera's.
I agree his behavior is totally disgusting to be part of the group shutting down the government for his own actions, and then talking to the ranger in that way as if she had caused the shut down.

(31,517 posts)memorial. Then he berates a Park Service employee for closing the memorial. He's playing games that put the American economy at risk and cause harm and inconvenience to untold thousands of people and she's doing her job. And he thinks that she should be ashamed?

(145,264 posts)According to Juanita Jean, CREW has filed an ethics complaint against this idiot http://www.juanitajean.com/2013/10/04/at-the-very-least-someone-should-sink-his-yacht/
Well, the good folks over at CREW did more than just get upset. They did something.Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House.
I know. Its hard to believe that he hasnt been be brought up before on conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House. Of course, Tom DeLay and Louie Gohmert lowered the standard on that pretty good.Rep. Neugebauers demeaning treatment of the ranger reinforces the commonly held belief that members of Congress are arrogant and have an over-inflated sense of superiority, continued [CREW Executive Director Melanie] Sloan. The House cannot permit its members to berate federal employees for a government shutdown for which Congress is responsible. Rep. Neugebauer needs to be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.
This is good news.

(312 posts)in the follow-up I'm recording today. I'm working on a Neugebauer piece and that would fit in perfectly. Between his accusations against CNN, this park debacle, the CREW ethics grievance, his goddamn boat--I'm sure I'll have a lot of material.
