(7,018 posts)and are still doing the disrespecting. Pres. Obama is the one who has been doing his best to
appease them from Day One. I remember Boehner, after emerging from a bargaining session
with the President, boasted that he'd gotten 95% of what he'd wanted!
The GOP is a bottomless pit. They want everything, and it's still not enough. The only things
they respect are money, power, and strength. Appeasement only whets their appetites, it just
makes them want still more. We are not dealing with normal people. We are dealing with
sickos.
They only respect the big stick! Pres. Obama has yet to understand this.

(18 posts)I just read this, "...Nemesis was the Goddess in charge of retribution for hubris, doling out Fortune to whom it was due. And bringing stern justice on those who took too much."
Calling on Nemesis to make her presence known. Today would be good.
That is all.

(6,891 posts)hubris was the unforgivable sin and was punished epically by the gods. Nemesis should be invited to visit Washington.

(2,307 posts)Mr. Stutzman you must earn respect. Do your job and you may be respected. Quit acting like a 5yr old and you may be respected. Quit holding the country hostage and you may be respected.
Actually the term disrespected reminds me of a former employee. I worked for a for-profit school which meant if we needed students to make our numbers we offered work-study and they were assigned to the jobs by the financial aid department no matter if the student-employee was qualified or not.
This guy who was hired for me was someone I wouldn't have hired given a choice. He had no communication skills, poor hygiene, low work ethics and a bad attitude with delusions of grandeur. I was wondering just who would hire him when he isn't needed to fill some goal.
He was constantly talking about being "disrespected'. He spoke constantly about being in fights because he was "disrespected" and on two occasions I saw him try to start a fight because he was being "disrespected", once because someone accidentally bumped into him.
I was taught you must earn respect, apparently today respect is an inalienable right.

(13,452 posts)This allows people to omit Obamacare from the water-cooler discussions. Hides it until the media considers it old news and not worth reporting. Except to report a lot of little things like a website that is slow on day one hoping Obamacare will die a death from a thousand paper cuts.
Also, it serves a little disaster capitalism as a gift to the investors, the further and further and further distanced-from-the-poor rich. This will make these richy riches donate even more to their upcoming campaigns.
Oh, they're doing it for a reason.

Call his offices, each and every office, each and every day this shut-down continues.
Don't tell him you live in another state, tell him you are an American citizen, period.
Don't tell hi you saw this on DU, tell him you are an American citizen, period.
Then tell him about how someone earns respect.
Make your own message, teach him to be a person who deserves respect, and teach him that he needs to earn it.
If you don't want to fool with this fool in Indy, fool with any Republican member of the House, anywhere, anytime, day or night, say the same thing, and keep it up, day by day. Make them feel a bit of heat for being so disrespectful to 800,000 fellow Americans who are hard-working qualified workers, workers who make less than he does, workers who got their job through honest competition, not through payoffs and campaign funds from big business.
Tell him to go directly to Hell and do not pass GO, and do it each and every day, in one way or another. Let's make this guy shake in his boots for a few years.

(750 posts)Well very obvious elected people that are supposed to work for all America not just the home town, or the one percent. Political people take an oath to the State and National Constitution to run the government to the best of their ability. This is what they consider as the best ability is no work. Just stop doing stuff. Wow. Shut it down.
Well shut the front door but keep the back door open for those secret deals. Isnt it unbelievable America is placed in this awkward sense of nomad wondering wilderness news culture of unknown hours ahead days ahead, weeks ahead.
You really have to have a sick mind or be mentally impaired. Instead of voter identification stuff at the red states they all should have a mental profile test. That identifies draconian middle age depression tendencies. Because this sure is something of a different time that does not ascend to something for the future something good something that builds even a little at a time but something to move forward with the sense of accomplishment. Not just stop.
The backlash can be expected towards anything Republican. Especially those that seek work, likely from my view plenty of people in the work force will have a tendency to recoil at the sign of working for a Republican institution. Many who do not choose a side to be Democratic or Republican or Independent, or even some tea party type who have an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness, that conscience in the mind for what is country patriotism pledge allegiance to the flag.
Can you imagine that inner feeling of a political person that shuts the doors of the government yet can stand at the ball game to pledge allegiance to the flag.
Imagine that political that shuts the door to service singing out Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? That political person never served in the military but shuts the door to serve the public. An incredible wrong weird feeling.
America lets all stand up and make these political people sing O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!
Do you well up in tears like I do, do you feel so sad about these people like I do, you just want God to smite them for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. They shut all that is we the people men selected to making society work, are they chasing America to church are they telling America to go home and pray. No, they want more money.

"You have already gotten the opportunity to serve the American people. There's no higher honor than that," Obama said to applause. "You've already gotten the opportunity to help businesses like this one. Workers like these. So the American people aren't in the mood to give you a goody bag to go with it. What you get is our intelligence professionals being back on the job. What you get is our medical researchers back on the job. What you get are little kids back in the head start.".

The men and women who serve in our nations National Guard and their families should not be victims of President Obama and Senate Democrats shutdown. Yet that is what is happening as Harry Reid has rejected four House-passed bills to keep the government open and our National Guard paid.
