Thom Hartmann: You Want to Own A Gun? Get It Licensed & Insured!

Christopher Hahn, Progressive Political Commentator, joins Thom Hartmann. The solution to America's gun problem is pretty simple. In fact - it's the same system we've been using to keep our roads safe since the 1920s

as compared to motor vehicles? A gun can't take anyone to work or vacation. A gun can't transport goods across the nation.

How much time does the public spend using guns as compared to motor vehicle?

Guns are clearly much more hazardous and provide far less benefit. Guns make life less secure for most Americans. Motor vehicles greatly improve the quality of life for most people.

And that's actually a valid analogy to the 'we insure cars' argument, because again, both objects are being operated in a public space.

This doesn't actually impact the issue of general ownership. (Most guns are not conceal/carried at all. Only ~9 million persons have licenses for that, nationwide)
