Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: Meat...do you want feces chunks with that?
Tony Corbo, Food & Water Watch, joins Thom Hartmann. You better get ready to
enjoy fecal matter in your pork chops - because a new Department of Agriculture
plan is going to make our already weak meat inspection system even weaker.

(10,274 posts)1. what happens to that meat in a recall?
Occasionally you will hear about a meat recall involving millions of pounds. At some point I was under the impression that the meat would be destroyed or put in a landfill etc. What they do is take the meat and cook it long enough that the bacteria is no longer harmful and put it back in the food chain as canned chilli, frozen lasagna, etc.

I think I'm going to buy a couple of acres of land somewhere not too cold and not too hot and start growing my own chickens and pigs, etc. Back to the land. I'm joking of course. But this news is absolutely terrible.

to buy American meats and poultry. This is horrible and one can easily see why.
