Thom Hartmann: Why We Shouldn't Attack Syria

Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FL, 9th District) joins Thom Hartmann. War drums continued to beat in Washington today as the Senate approved a draft resolution authorizing American intervention in Syria. President Obama says we need to hold Assad accountable - but is it really our job to be the world's policeman?

Do all you can to influence and inform all you know that this is a quagmire if we step into it...we have no good reason to leap to violence except some high rolling "donors" will make a huge bundle on the blood of Syrians and perhaps much much more. We really need to focus on our own priorities right here in the good ole USA, not the Empire.

It's so refreshing to hear the truth which is rarely available on the Corporate media.

But watch as the Villagers (Who are all about rhetoric) and Obama Bots start screaming that HE personally LOST.

Hell, Tweety said it would mean the END of his role as Commander In Chief.

trusted him, ever. It always amazes me that anyone on the 'left' who remembers his love affair with Bush and his cod piece, could ever have any respect for him again.

Occasionally he stumbles on something right, but I believe those are pure accidents. He is a right winger who is indicative of the problems we have in our Party, that badly need to be cleaned up.

Remembering the Iraq War's Pollyanna pundits

"We're all neo-cons now."

--MSNBC's Chris Matthews (4/9/03)

"Why don't the damn Democrats give the president his day? He won today. He did well today."

--MSNBC's Chris Matthews (4/9/03)

"What's he going to talk about a year from now, the fact that the war went too well and it's over? I mean, don't these things sort of lose their--Isn't there a fresh date on some of these debate points?"

--MSNBC's Chris Matthews, speaking about Howard Dean (4/9/03)

"We're proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who's physical, who's not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who's president. Women like a guy who's president. Check it out. The women like this war. I think we like having a hero as our president. It's simple. We're not like the Brits."

leg watching the phony cowboy from Maine and his codpiece walking across the deck of that ship?

I agree, some things ARE unforgiveable and one of them was his ignorance regarding who was a real hero and was not.

To me, THIS is unforgivable and he should never, ever be allowed to forget it:

Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who's physical, who's not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern.

I guess being an actual REAL WAR HERO, with MEDALS to prove it, like McGovern, who was a WW11 decorated war hero, a combat pilot, who didn't go AWOL like his 'hero', who found the safety of Texas too scary to even stay there and do what he signed on to do.

Tweety is a moron of the first degree and it says a lot about this country that we consider the network that promotes him as their #1 political pundit is considered a RELIABLE SOURCE, while actual AWARD WINNING SOURCES, such as RT have been declared unreliable.

Well I guess if your standards for 'reliable' include trashing an ACTUAL WAR HERO, who is a DEMOCRAT, you probably have a point.

I will never forgive him for daring to compare George AWOL Bush to WW!! Combat Pilot, who actually WORE THE flight suit that got Tweety so excited, in battle, NOT FOR SHOW.

RIP George McGovern Tweety and his 'hero' combined are not fit to wipe your feet!

Thanks for posting those quotes, I really do appreciate seeing them again. Sometimes I find it hard to believe some of the things he actually said.

Oh, one more thing, on his comment about women. He was wrong again. Bush was not popular with women, even Republican women. As a woman all I can say is 'Tweety, do not ever try to speak for women again'. He made an idiot of himself, but he's still on the air.

As far as they were concerned, he was a commie. They decided to attack him and all he stood for which is why when he campaigned against hunger those pricks decided to make hunger WORSE.
