It was true under Bush and regrettably even more so under Obama, and it must stop!

with the still in dispute 9/11 tragedy culled by neocons for all it was worth. Let me see. What was it worth=1million dead Iraqis, trillions of national treasure squandered, 6thousand+ american dead, 100,000+wounded, substantial portion traumatic brain injury, traumatic amputation, untold cost into the future taking care of these wounded vets. And no, NOT "even more so under Obama", much LESS than under the neocons. Under Obama's watch, no attacks on america. Under Bushmonkey....take your pick! Why more cause he's using drones instead of live bodies? The drone issue is not settled. NSA spying started with neocons and has not stopped. Okay, go back to where it started, the neocon inspired Patriot Act. I doubt any Pres. could get that entrenched neocon bullshit repealed. You got a way to do? Put it out there! Oh, Obama is such a bad Pres. At least he didn't have to steal two elections to stay in power. oh yeah, I do like Chomsky's dissent. It is the truth. But a pile on of my Pres. Naw. Romshit would have been ten times worse.

"So you can't, seriously on the one hand, be not only carrying out massive terror, but even generate potential terrorists against yourself, and claim that we have to have massive surveillance to protect ourselves against terror. Thats a joke. There should be headlines."

The guy is very clever ,informed, and has made a massive study of the american state, he always gives amazingly clear analysis. He goes on the talk about the war criminals and terrorists the US will not extradite to other countries, and yet the US calls for the extradition of Snowden, Chomsky calls out the massive hypocrisy.

Linguistics" on unsuspecting college students in the mid-sixties. My GPA as a freshman English major plummeted that year. If we were "left brain," rather than "right brain" oriented, we would have been math majors. Reducing language and sentence structure to what amounted to mathematical formulas was a real bummer. By the time I started teaching, we were back to the old grammar formulas for breaking down writing. Many students had trouble enough with that, breeze that it was to some of us. I may be making no sense to anyone other than students in certain colleges in that era. Suffice it to say, Chomsky was right up with the worst villains in education to me back then. In later years, as I've followed his politics, all is forgiven.

still doing it. He was at UM two weeks ago having this same discussion. Yes I attended and no I was not impressed. I was hoping he would get into dissent in the Q&A but the friends who stayed during Q&A said he wouldn't broach the subject of dissent. Sorry UM-Michigan.
