Because for profit insurance is legal organized crime. Socialism is in fact far more efficient than the system we have now where executives are the richest 1% and demand millions of dollars per year in compensation so that they can decide who gets treatment and who dies. They have rigged the system so that costs are so high that most people can't afford them and are dependent on insurance for routine healthcare until one day they are at their sickest and most in need so they get dropped by the 1%.

This a rather deep discussion of the current situation,. and yet is rather accessible.
Indeed alternatives to the current corporate-fascism are what people really want, and are what we need to be pushing forward.
