That is true. Unfortunately, I made this video before it was blocked. However, I think Detroit will file for Chapter Nine some time soon.

if there was a functioning democracy, the level of crooked deals, that transfer money from the taxpayers to private 1%ers could be held in check,. however democracy has been steadily eroded to the point of non-function.

Detroit is a canary in the coal mine,. the first but not the last.

Used to take the tunnel bus over all the time to see bands, hit the bars, or drive over the bridge to go to mexican-town or Tigers games,. when I was in university I had friends at wayne state and used to haunt the Cass Corridor area a fair bit,. 404 Willis was a cool anarchist collective space. I have watched the city go through many things,. this is just another. There are many positive things happening now in Detroit, urban farmers moving in, to start permaculture farms in the cheap cleared land downtown, new bicycle manufacturing, new breweries, restaurants, in the market area,. it is a rise and fall an ebb an flow. The bankruptcy is only the 1% attempting to take more,. we must resist them at every turn.

other stuff grabs the headlines. Yes we must resist the 1% scumbags that are trying to steal the silverware even as we speak.

Thanks for your good words, Canadian brother (sister?). Being a Detroiter, I'm part Canadian myself. Grandma was from Sandwich.
