On HLN's Nancy Grace, key George Zimmerman prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel accepts an offer from syndicated radio host Tom Joyner for a full scholarship to a historically black college or university.Joyner explained why he made the offer.

Radio Host Tom Joyner Offers Rachel Jeantel A Full College Scholarship

Tom Joyner offered Trayvon Martin’s friend Rachel Jeantel not just a college scholarship, but tutors to help her get there.

Tuesday morning on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Joyner offered an olive branch to the embattled teen, offering her a possible full scholarship to any HBCU through the Tom Joyner Foundation.

Joyner proclaimed, “Hi Rachel, this is Tom Joyner, I love you, I really do love you”, Jeantel, shyly giggles before responding, “I know.”

But, Jeantel didn’t know how much she was loved because, Joyner was soon to dramatically change her life in a matter of minutes, saying, “If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if it’s not in Florida but especially Florida, like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that.”

3. People don't get that when you are there all you see is someone pointing a camera at you....

They have a monitor of the person you are talking to so you can see them but still.

I feel you hit the nail on the head by saying she's shy.

Millions of people are watching you in that situation and it can be overwhelming.

There may yet be some positive things to come out of this awful tragedy, and this woman getting a great education would be one of them. Hopefully in a few years, we will see posts on this site about Ms. Jeantel earning her BA or BS.
