America is more resistant to change than China is. We keep re-reading the words of our founding fathers, and claiming that we need to be guided by their ideals, as though they will always apply in a changing world. Even those of us who call out for reform, want to base those reforms on NOT changing our system of governing.

When you think about it, a one-party system is really a no party system. Many of our problems today arise from the divisiveness of multiple parties. We stick rigidly to this ideal, even though it may well be our biggest shortcoming.

which is sort of like a one-party system, except here we have the ILLUSION of democracy, and so the elites are worse even more unaccountable.
