America is more resistant to change than China is. We keep re-reading the words of our founding fathers, and claiming that we need to be guided by their ideals, as though they will always apply in a changing world. Even those of us who call out for reform, want to base those reforms on NOT changing our system of governing.
When you think about it, a one-party system is really a no party system. Many of our problems today arise from the divisiveness of multiple parties. We stick rigidly to this ideal, even though it may well be our biggest shortcoming.
