She adamantly asserts that she will "die with a cigarette in her hand."

(She is morbidly obese, has high blood pressure, OCD disorder and Panic Disorder--doesn't think she has any health issues related to her smoking.)

and even some non-smokers think that smoking is just fine and doesn't cause any harm, and those of us who complain about their smoking just need to get over ourselves.

The sad truth is that the terrible toll smoking can take has been well known for at least fifty years, so I have a lot of trouble working up sympathy for all those who started smoking since the Surgeon General's report in 1964, and all those who continue to smoke.

Usually the anti-smoking commercials (and anti-drug commercials) are pretty lame and weak. But this one really hits home.

I'm a smoker, in good health, but still a smoker. One of these days ...
