1. Racism
2. Guns

I keep hearing Zimmerman was part of a neighborhood watch. Clearly this gave him no authority to shoot an unarmed kid, but is it even true?

Now, through a statement released by the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) — the parent organization of USAonWatch-Neighborhood Watch — it has been revealed that Zimmerman was not a member of any group recognized by the organization. Zimmerman violated the central tenets of Neighborhood Watch by following Martin, confronting him and carrying a concealed weapon.

In no program that I have ever heard of does someone patrol with a gun in their pocket,” Carmen Caldwell, the Executive Director of Citizens’ Crime Watch of Miami-Dade, told theGrio. “Every city and municipality has their own policies. Here in Miami-Dade we train people only to be the eyes and ears of their communities. Not to follow and most definitely not to carry a weapon.”

Despite this, Zimmerman admitted that he had fired a weapon on the night of the incident. In addition, the non-emergency call Zimmerman placed on February 26 before the shooting revealed he had been pursuing Martin by car before accosting the youth on foot — all direct violations of Neighborhood Watch policies.

“The alleged action of a ‘self-appointed neighborhood watchman’ last month in Sanford, FL significantly contradicts the principles of the Neighborhood Watch Program,” NSA Executive Director Aaron D. Kennard, Sheriff (ret.) said in the press statement. “NSA has no information indicating the community where the incident occurred has ever even registered with the NSA Neighborhood Watch program.”

But I'm curious if his neighborhood even had one. Did they have meetings or any training? Did his neighborhood know Zimmerman had appointed himself Sheriff Quick Draw?

I'm appointing myself Queen of my neighborhood.

About the neighborhood watch, I have a question; Did they actually have problems caused by living in an unpatrolled area? What crimes? When? Or were they (the neighborhood) victims of our culture of fear (which fox news contributes to daily, by the shit ton)?
What dipshit told, implied, hinted at, or inferred that the civilian neighborhood watch were deputies? Why was Zimmerman patrolling alone? The actual NW patrols in pair, for safety.

Zimmerman was out running an errand when he saw Trayvon walking down the street.

that would imply he was out, armed, at night, looking for someone, anyone who fitted his personal description of a criminal; with the single reason of confrontation.
That jumps "stand your ground" to "premeditation".

But tht required some kind of hearing that didn't happen. At this point, Zimmerman is claiming straight self-defense.

I can't locate the timeline I saw before, but it said he got in his truck to run to a store or something and almost immediately spotted Trayvon and called the police department's non-emergency number.

but that doesn't preclude them from using SYG at trial if they feel they need to. At least that's my understanding.

Zimmerman left his house to go to the grocery store and spotted Trayvon in the first minute. It's site has a lot of pictures, audio and video.

Trayvon gave George a 'dehumanizing stare!'

But why stop there? They could elevated it to "dehumanizing glare." That would really shake up FOX News viewers!
