Fox & Friends host Gretchen Carlson went on an angry rant about the payroll tax cut compromise. Cenk Uygur discusses Gretchen's comments and just how hypocritical she is.

1. She's just mad that working class people are getting a tax break (though small).

If this were another tax break for the 1%, she would be passed drunk from celebrating (in Rupert's office or course).

3. Only Tax We Collect Too Much to Pay the Bills

Funny thing about it is the congress has raised an extra 2.5 Trillion in surplus from the payroll taxes. They've chosen to spend it giving the rich tax cuts, and used it to wage wars for oil companies in Iraq, and Afghanistan. So basically, we're collecting too much, more than we need to pay out Social Security.

True, the idea is to collect enough to pay SS for the next 30 years, but if we want to do that, we need to stop borrowing it, stop putting it into the general fund and spending it. But basically, this is the one tax we're actually, presently collecting enough to pay for what it finances, SS insurance.

Now those tax cuts for the rich, well, they basically put us back into deficits, and increasing debt, which the republicans lie about daily.

7. I'm very glad to have someone on this board equate war with deficit.

Military is the 1000 lb. gorilla in the deficit room. If we brought home the troops and closed military bases around the world all these problems would disappear. We have enough nuclear subs and aircraft carriers to be the worlds "policeman" without need of all these foreign bases. I sincerely believe these foreign bases are generally vacation destinations. If we get out of the "imperialism" business we can finance our budgets indefinitely.

they flat out make stuff up (ACORN, birth control, etc.) and MAKE IT NEWS and because their are #1 in news right now the rest of the media follows them or MSNBC spends all their time countering the Fiction News.
