I was in high school in Detroit when this speech was made. I remember it, but hearing it again I realize that I never really listened to it. Looking back, and given what happened in the summer of 1967 in Detroit, one realizes that JFK's program, as given in this speech, took much more effort than what was within peoples' hearts.

This makes me very sad.


We see the same bullshit today, only now it's an entire party and far more people who are utterly blind to what is going on.
