Brian May: Lead Guitarist of Queen and Astrophysicist

Rough week of Republicans searching under stones for any scandal they could create.

I thought I would look for people that transcend politics, that have had a positive effect on society and who by leading by example, make us look for that better part of ourselves.

Lead Guitarist of the band Queen and Astrophysicist: Brian May

Brian Harold May CBE (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist who achieved international fame as the guitarist of Queen.

He was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2005 for "services to the music industry and for his charity work". May earned a Ph.D in astrophysics from Imperial College in 2007 and served as the 4th Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 until 2013.He resides in Surrey.

Then Queen became big and he had to choose.

I saw Brian on the program The Sky at Night presented by Sir Patrick Moore. Brian was a lifetime fan of Sir Patrick and bought his house and leased it back to Sir Patrick on a 25-year lease, ensuring sir Patrick's comfort in his last years. The rent? "One peppercorn, if demanded".

Genuine class, Dr May.

a recent thing. Made me hopeful for myself.

I would like to get an actual doctorate in the hard sciences somewhere down the line.
Be a nice change from all the degrees.

I would likely be in my 50-60s by then. Dependent on time invested.

But as someone once said said

"Life is nothing more than a "To Do" list"

I wish you all the luck in the world pursuing a PhD in Science...That is an enormous amount of work but I can only imagine the pride one would have in one's self after such an accomplishment! Not to mention how much more interesting the world becomes once you have such knowledge.

My friend just finished his PhD in Physics...I am so proud of him!

was a genius because of his fusion of rock and other genres and making unbelievably great music. I did not realize (I should have) that other band members were genius's also.
They put on such a great concert also...
