Stephen Colbert was shaken up on Wednesday after South Carolina turned its back on his family. By “South Carolina” he meant its voters, and by “his family” he meant his sister Elizabeth Colbert-Busch — who recently lost a special election for a House seat to former Gov. Mark Sanford. The experience not only upset Colbert… but led him to a revelation about the world of politics.

but 'meltdown' is an incorrect characterization. He handled it the same way that he deals with any other political travesty - with the humor, wit & aplomb that we love so much. In fact, I'm confident that we haven't seen the last of Stephen Colbert be-boppin' & scattin' all over Mark Sanford's tenure in the House. The more exposure that his abominable election receives, the better it serves us.
