Nancy Pelosi: Stop Colbert

I imagine this is a joke, but she's using his Super PAC as an example? Or, she's highlighting her close relationship with newt?

In a first step to reform the money in politics, House Democrats are reintroducing the DISCLOSE Act today to get unlimited, secret donations out of politics. The Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United opened the floodgates to unrestricted special interest campaign donations in American elections—permitting corporations to spend unlimited funds, directly or through third parties and Political Action Committees organized for those purposes, to influence Federal elections and opened the door for the emergence of Super PACs.

When you get to that point you KNOW it's tongue in cheek. But not quite a joke.

It's being brought out in a lighthearted matter, but the sentiment is correct: STOP THE SUPER-PACS.

by going after the one that isn't "affiliated" with a candidate (or party) in order to call attention to the legislation to stop them all together.

That way, they can focus on the Citizens United SNAFU as it stands, without being accused of "picking" on one side or another.

make sense, but when you can see it clearly in its entirety without any problems, I think you will applaud what she is going for here.

How about Mitch McConnell? Campaign financing has long been one of his pet causes.
