like singling out pro-life as such an important issue they must vote Republican and then they can make them start to believe almost anything and reject rationality--like science.

Well, Carson knew the trick was to bump the table and see which can didn't move, so he had all of them glued to the table. Gellar was stumped and Carson outed him as a sham.

Nebel was the skeptic's skeptic, but he started out as a street hustler and still loved having conmen and whackos on his show, with Randi and a few others explaining reality and how the Venusian dog or the Heironymous machine couldn't exist.
But, he mentioned in his book that one time he saw Randi on stage and he slowly disappeared while his voice was still heard. Then he slowly came back. Everyone assumed it was a good trick, but Nebel asked him how he did it and Randi answered... "Did what?"
Nebel, while still the eternal skeptic, was left wondering...
