How people had the cool to keep their cameras going is unbelievable. It gives you the feeling of almost being there. Horrific. I was actually feeling motion sickness just watching!

I think that was like a 7.0, and it was pretty bad, but it didn't last as long as this one did, nor have the same magnitude. I am so glad we never had a follow up Tsunami.

No way man. If that was me, I don't care HOW bad the ground is rocking and rolling, I'd be BOOKIN' in the other direction. Best possible speed even if on my hands and knees.

Any water in the ground is pushed to the top. I think its called liquefaction. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquefaction) We saw it here, during the 1989 earthquake in the Marina District. That land was all reclaimed land.. and houses sunk into it as they burned from the gas pipes breaking.
