They made their own clothes, they built their own homes, they grew their own food, they cooked their own meals. No master kindly gave those things to the slaves. The slave built it, made it, grew it, cooked it, sewed it, cleaned it, raised it. The slave did it all and kept a very small portion, the worst portion, to just barely survive and all the rest went to the white person who called himself a master.

No one ever gave a slave anything that that slave hadn't earned twenty times over.

Racist are some the most willfully stupid people in all the world.

I meant to comment on the racist in the video and add to your comment, not correct it or disparage it.

Yes, labor compensation has become so meager that it almost equates to slavery. I agree. I just thought the add on that slaves provide for themselves AND their lazy slave masters built upon your comment.

Slave means not being able to have a life and make choices for one's self. It means being at the mercy of a master. Yep, get that right - a master over one.

And the taking away of a person's wife and family and selling them down the river because they were just so much property. White boy needs to get in touch with real history. Perhaps he'd be happy to be a slave so he can have food and shelter. Until he does so he can go pound sand.

And let's not forget we "superior" white people kidnapped millions of African-Americans from their homes and forced them into indentured servitude. Last I checked kidnapping is illegal and forcing people to work under the lash is also illegal.

hmmmm.....

This is why capital can't engage freely in certain areas and still maintain civil rights... the 'ownership' and flow of money makes dependent people the "providers", and workers of any sort are the "receivers".

Republican at CPAC wants 'segregation', 'no U.S. voting rights for blacks', and 'women to not speak in public'

The ARTICLE at the Think Progress link has MUCH MORE than just what is in the video

-snip-

ThinkProgress spoke with Terry, who sported a Rick Santorum sticker and attended CPAC with a friend who wore a Confederate Flag-emblazoned t-shirt, about his views after the panel. Terry maintained that white people have been “systematically disenfranchised” by federal legislation.

When asked by ThinkProgress if he’d accept a society where African-Americans were permanently subservient to whites, he said “I’d be fine with that.” He also claimed that African-Americans “should be allowed to vote in Africa,” and that “all the Tea Parties” were concerned with the same racial problems that he was.

At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party’s roots, to which Terry responded, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.”

Mr.Terry was sick and tired of being called a racist when he --- like so many others in the oppressed minority that is the Republican Party --- knew he was not one.

This photo from bradblog.com showing Mr. Terry and his friend.

When the focus moves right to the redneck racist, there is a guy, partially off camera, dressed in what looks to be a buckskin jacket. He is holding a "Don't tread on me" snake flag. Tea Party people are so colorful.

that slave was being adequately fed and housed before he was kidnapped and sold into slavery. If he/she had been left alone to begin with or if someone along the way opened up a fucking can of "act right" and freed that person before being forced into the hold of the ship, then no one in this effed up country would have had to house and feed them.

Jesus effing jumped up Christ on a freakin' stick!! And those people who applauded this fool have an extra hot place waiting for them in hell.

I've got news for this cretin---this country is not going backwards to when blacks could not vote and women could not speak up and straighten out a stupid white man in public. I will thank this ass for making it quite clear that CPAC and the Teahadists are all racists, there is nothing about taxes in their rhetoric-that's all a front. Their agenda is exactly what this fool said. Every rethug who is participating in this event co-signs what he has said. Period. End of story.

Just consider the source. After the Civil War the Union failed to sever the head of the Confederate serpent. We just stepped on its tail, and now it's turning to bite us again, just like it has for the past 150 years. It really is past time to have its head on a stick.
