Legalized Bribery -Senator Bought by State Farm

"A Dallas-area senator carrying a bill that would abolish the state's consumer advocate for insurance received nearly $112,000 from insurance political action committees in his 2012 campaign, a political watchdog group reported Friday."* Kelly Hancock is a Texas state senator who introduced a bill to eliminate Texas' consumer advocate for insurance. His legislation wouldn't have anything to do with all the money State Farm gave him, would it? Cenk Uygur discusses the watchdog revelation.

I don't understand it, I really don't. If you look at all of the threads on DU at any given time, most of the problems complained of would be solved by politicians who did not owe a special interest. I know they would find ways to make their presence felt, but it would not be as near as effective as owning them! The protest will eventually start when things get so bad, Billy Joe Jim Bob's cable gets turned off and he can no longer watch Fix News. Then you will see the gloves come off in a big way as the corporate interests donate more money to the police benevolent fund! They will not let go of the power, we will have to take it! We will need millions of dedicated protestors to force them to make the changes necessary to preserve these United States of America! I will be there, will you?

Probably the most important issue. Political corruption undelies what is wrong with every issue we face.

Gee, this doesn't look too good for the Citizens United case, does it? We gotta overturn this notion that $=Free Speech, Corps=People and replace them with democracy not for sale. Let's Go!
