Glen Beck and the WWE at war

You can skip to around 1:40 where the wrestlers break character and go after Beck. He is mad because the wrestlers are portraying a tea party gimmick, and making fun of Ann Coulter. Not much of fan of wrestling but I found it funny.

I think WWE is going a swerve by trying to set up a confrontation with Glen Back. The Glen Beck "character" is feuding with the WWE "characters". It's all a typical plot in the world of pro wrestling. There is a long existing overlap. Back in the 1990s, the long time champ, Bob Backlund, "ran" for President as a RW hack. Then in 2000, without changing the script, the real person Bob Backlund ran a "real" campaign for Congress as a Republican.

Of course we all know Linda McMahon is the co-owner of WWE and the two-time, yes two-time, candidate for Senate as a Republican. It can get confusing unless you know how plot lines work in pro wrestling. Vince McMahon has been doing this stuff for all of his adult life, learning the business from his father.

Maybe Glen Beck will appear at Wrestlemania this year.

These two come out and admit it just an act and they are actors providing entertainment and not reality.

Hold a mirror up to Glenn Beck. He's no different than these gentlemen, except his audience doesn't realize it yet. He'll never show at the challenge.

Thanx for posting this. Made my evening.

He's right. Wrestling shows really do stay topical and they create characters who, for all the heel shit they do, don't shoot anybody. I loved the Houston Wrestling show as a kid. Me and my sister would make fun of it and fake wrestle afterwards, with all the baloney moves.

I kinda want to check it out again now. For a boring publicity stunt, this worked pretty good, I guess.

Man, I love this gimmick. Jack Swagger (guy on the right) has always been a favorite of mine and I love to hate this Tea Party gimmick that he's got going on right now. I just hope his recent DUI doesn't derail his push.

She's not Tea Party, but a pretty much establishment Republican, which explains a lot of this.

because, truly, Glenn Beck may indeed be Andy Kaufman's most brilliant character.

Quite frankly, it's funny they are already complaining when all he's doing is miming the tamest of the Teabaggers.

I say Ricardo gets thrown across the border (due to Alberto accidentally not having his green card back when he was a heel?)
