"Nothing ever changes," Rush Limbaugh lamented on Thursday. Pointing to the narrative surrounding the country's spending concerns and "manufactured" crises, the talk radio host grew frustrated, saying he's no longer getting "roped in."

"Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country," Limbaugh informed listeners. "To be watching all of this...to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it's being is — it just makes me ashamed."

Referring to the country's spending, Limbaugh said we'll spend more this year than we spent last year. "There is not real cut," he said. Yet "here they come" with the panic and fear.

"Crisis, destruction," Limbaugh continued, citing the potentially disastrous effects of the sequester that President Obama recently listed.

"My days of getting roped in to all this are over," he said, criticizing the media and "ruling class" for going along with the narrative. Deeming it insulting, Limbaugh said we keep hearing the same "threats" and arguments, it never changes.

One manufactured crisis to the next, he went on, we spend more, growing more dependent and irresponsible.

But here's the real crisis: "We can't afford any of this."

And the nicest thing was, I didn't even have to read this bilge. There's nothing he has to say that I'm in the least interested in, even to dispute it.

This country should be ashamed that such a putrid asshole can broadcast his BS for 15 hours every week on so many radio stations. I can get some hope from the fact that he is still losing lots of advertisers and he may remain on the air due mainly to right-wing money from fat cats who recognize that his smug, heartless propaganda is useful to their agenda. If they give up on him then just maybe we can look forward to a day when El Rushbo will be nothing but a rancid memory. He recently was included on a list of the 24 most loathsome people in America. I couldn't agree more.

It really wasn't that uncommon back then to hear young right wingers proudly calling themselves "dittoheads".

Most people considered him to be the Art Bell of politics. Then for a while, it seemed like he had some real power but now he's seen like Glenn Beck. He had his time in the sun but it's over. The problem is there are still Republicans in Congress that suck up to him.
