Fox News Host: Rapes Don't Happen at College

"Bob Beckel stunned his own co-hosts when he suggested that rape does not happen on college campuses during Tuesday's "The Five."

The Fox News roundtable was debating Colorado legislation that would allow women to carry concealed weapons to prevent sexual assault at colleges. Beckel was skeptical, and asked, "When's the last time you heard about rape on a college campus?"*

Fox News' "The Five" host Bob Beckel was stunned at the idea of rape occurring on a college campus during a debate as to whether women should be allowed to carry guns at universities. 1. Don't watch Fox, no fan of concealed carry, yet I live in a college town. Rapes do happen.

How the heck did that happen. Even if he meant to say women on college campuses don't get violently raped by strangers it is still a stupid thing to say. Of course, stranger rape can occur on a college campus or anywhere for that matter. But, then he tries to say oh you mean date rape, yeah I wasn't thinking about that kind of rape.
