Obama created more jobs than Steve Jobs' Apple
http://money.cnn.com/2012/01/25/technology/apple_steve_jobs/index.htm?iid=HP_LNThere's no doubt that Apple is doing far better than the U.S. economy as a whole. But that doesn't mean Steve Jobs had a better jobs record than Barack Obama.
"The late Steve Jobs -- what a fitting name he had -- created more of them than all those stimulus dollars the President borrowed and blew," Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels proclaimed.
The only problem with that nice play on the Apple founder's name is that Daniels' math just doesn't add up, no matter how successful and valuable Apple (AAPL, Fortune 500) has become.

(22,144 posts)fairly well paid. Then there are those of suppliers, some of whom are in the US.
Neither side is playing it straight with the number, not that it should surprise anyone.

(23,051 posts)I should know, I've had to put up with this Rand-Bot as Governor for 7 years.
"Of course there are lots of other workers at Apple suppliers who actually assemble the iPhones, iPads and other products. The New York Times recently reported that there are 700,000 of those workers at other companies..."
Are those the people in China that they have to catch in nets when they try to jump to their deaths out the factory windows?
Daniels and his ilk get hard and throbbing over the prospects of bringing working conditions like that to Murrika.

(20,219 posts)I was infuriated!!! And the commentators let it all slip by, as if it were a valid, respectable speech.
OK, they did comment that it was very much the Republican viewpoint, but they did nothing to refute the made-up blather presented as if it were fact in every sentence.
AGHHH!!! Goddammit! Letting a lie stand uncorrected isn't reporting!!! It isn't fair and balanced, it isn't respect for differing opinions!!!!!!! It's WEAK and IGNORANT!!!
Argghh!! Arrrrrrghhhh!!!! Arrrghhhhhhh AAaaarGHHH!
