Gov. Chris Christie wants us to believe that the federal government is the true villain standing in the way of relief for the many victims of Hurricane Sandy who remain destitute more than a year out.
"FEMA is the new F-word," he told the crowd at Thursdays town hall in Port Monmouth. "Were stuck dealing with a federal system that is broke. The fact is, though, that they dont have, in my opinion, the first idea of what they are doing."

But dont let the governor get away with this cop-out. The bulk of the screw-ups that have handicapped this effort are homemade, right here in Jersey. Lets look at the record.
The first big mistake was NJ Transits dumbfounding decision to park its trains in a low-lying swampy area, where they were predictably flooded, causing $120 million in damage. The line of authority for that blooper goes straight to the governor, not to Washington.

Projection. Project your short comings on someone else. GOPers are good at it.
