Day 9 of BLINDNESS (short report) - the note didn't work...and neither did I

I went out to "the neighborhood" again. *
I somehow made a U-turn in the middle of a cross street in the middle of the block and ended up back basically at the starting point but on the other side of the street. I started facing south but ended up facing north. I crossed the street without realizing it. Apparently a driveway or the alley "spit me out onto the street" which is common in the early stages of learning mobility. The incline turns your body weight and the cane tells you that there is pavement in front of you so you follow it.
Different instructor today - she has sight but wears the sleep shade so we were both without sight. She has the experience and training to know that there was no traffic coming down the street....and ... she knew exactly when I was screwing up but let me "figure it out".
No cooking today. A couple of review/wrap up meetings on my training.
I have about 3 hours tomorrow left in blindness. One more trip to "the neighborhood" tomorrow morning.
Almost over - an amazing and *ahem* eye opening experience.
*- I had a note excusing me from "playing in the traffic" but it didn't work. It was even signed by "Epstein's Mother" for crying out loud!!!
